"You will get a sentimental feeling when you hear..."
The city of Rexburg asked our class to design a Christmas campaign, and I had the privilege of serving as co-creative director for the project. The class was split into three teams, and we spent the whole semester on it, working with a budget and meeting with the city council multiple times to create presentations. Our campaign, called Rocking Around Rexburg, was inspired by 60s retro design and classic Christmas songs. We wanted to blend nostalgia with a modern twist to connect with our audience. The story we created follows an elf named Tinsel, who loses track of the reindeer, and needs help from the citizens of Rexburg to find them at fun holiday activities around the city before Christmas. We designed a passport that could be stamped at each activity and an activity book for kids, which featured Tinsel's story. Along with other promotional materials like swag, posters, banners, flyers, tents, and reindeer displays, our goal was to get the community more involved in the holiday season. This project really taught me the power of teamwork!

Updates:
For the 2024 holiday season, Rexburg has chosen the aesthetic of our Rocking Around Rexburg Christmas campaign! We’re excited to see our designs featured in the city's official activity book, and we're grateful to be mentioned in a local article with more news to follow soon. It’s an honor to contribute to the holiday spirit in Rexburg this year!
Quote from the article, which can be found here
"Tinsel was created by the 2023 fall semester Professional Projects class team at BYU-Idaho. The team designed the overall aesthetic of the guide Tinsel and a number of her friends. We're grateful to "Team Tinsel Force" for their help in guiding the look of our holiday season!"
